Natural landscaping includes a majority of native plants.

Here at Garden Environments, when we design the natural landscaping at your Chapel Hill, North Carolina home, we’ll make recommendations for natives and other types of greenery that will look visually appealing and be able to thrive in this area’s climate. When they can thrive naturally, they are healthier without the need for an excess of pesticides and fertilizers.

Natural landscaping can also refer to landscaping features that work together to ensure your landscaping stays beautiful throughout the year. By blending plants that have specific prime periods that differ from one another, you’ll always have something visually appealing to look at as you wander your property or sit and relax while gazing out upon your natural landscaping.

When we design natural landscaping projects, our philosophy is to keep a minimum of 70% of the biomass as plants native to the Southeast U.S. We strictly avoid anything considered an invasive plant. The Smithsonian states that at least 70% native plants will make an ideal bird habitat. Since this is so important, we never do a project without the majority of the plants being native.
